Psychology of Money

What it is:
The idea that money decisions are driven more by emotions, habits, upbringing, fear, ego, and past experiences than by logic or math.

People don’t handle money based on what’s “correct.” They handle it based on how safe, powerful, anxious, or worthy money makes them feel.

Core ideas:

  • Your money behavior is shaped by your childhood and life experiences

  • Fear and pride influence financial choices more than knowledge

  • Wealth is often about time, freedom, and peace, not just numbers

  • Being “good with money” ≠ being rich

  • Long-term patience usually beats short-term brilliance

Example:
Two people earn the same salary. One saves calmly. The other overspends.
The difference isn’t intelligence — it’s psychology.

The Let Them Theory

What it is:
A mindset that says: Stop trying to control people’s reactions, choices, opinions, or behavior. Let them.

You conserve energy, protect your peace, and stop shrinking yourself to manage others.

Core ideas:

  • If they misunderstand you — let them

  • If they leave — let them

  • If they judge — let them

  • If they choose differently — let them

You focus on your response, not their behavior.

Example:
Someone doesn’t appreciate your effort.
Instead of over-explaining or chasing validation, you say internally:
Let them.
And you move forward with self-respect.

How They Connect

Both concepts are about internal control vs external chaos.

  • Psychology of Money → You stop comparing your financial journey to others

  • Let Them Theory → You stop trying to manage other people’s opinions about your life

Together, they teach:

  • Emotional maturity

  • Self-trust

  • Detachment from validation

  • Long-term peace over short-term approval
